The Real Story
For those who don't believe in fairy tales:
Data Systems Design was founded in the early eighties by Jenny Mullins, a former banker with 20 years experience in bank operations and investments. In its first years, DSD provided marketing and support services to banks for a wide range of PC based financial software.
In 1986 the IRS/SSA introduced PC based magnetic media reporting (which is now electronic filing only) of Information Returns along with a tightening of the reporting requirements and penalties for non-compliance. DSD was asked by many of its clients to recommend software to address these new conditions. There was none. DSD saw an opportunity to fill a critical need of financial institutions and promptly developed a quality PC based system. The IRS Reporter was designed from the ground up to handle all information reporting requirements -- paper, disk, and electronic.
The programming staff is experienced in both mainframe and PC systems, providing a unique ability to combine the best features of both. The resulting software is fast, powerful, extremely easy to use, and maintains a record of 100% IRS/SSA format compatibility. The Reporter is enhanced and completely replaced annually to insure strict compliance with regulatory requirements. DSD's reputation for providing outstanding software, support and documentation demonstrates a continuing high level of commitment to its clients.
